Our Business Valuation engagements follow generally accepted valuation standards and procedures that produce a single conclusion of value for your business. We follow the following valuation standards:
1) Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal practice (USPAP)
2) Statement on Standards for Valuation Services (SSVS)
3) Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Business Valuation Guidelines
We perform a thorough financial analysis of your business, and analyze the condition of and outlook for your industry and the economy in general. We use methods from all 3 valuation approaches to reach our conclusion. We provide an extensive report detailing and explaining what we did and why we did it. Our Business Valuation reports have been accepted and used in a number of litigation cases involving estates, divorce, wrongful death, and shareholder/partner disputes.
How Much It Costs
Our fee for a Business Valuation depends on the size of the business (by annual sales) and the complexity of the valuation engagement. Our fee is based on the following schedule. These fees are based on valuing a 100 percent equity interest. There is a surcharge for valuing a lesser interest involving a premium or discount. A 50% retainer is required.d valuations on companies with annual sales as high as $20 million, our specialty is valuing owner-operated businesses with annual sales under $5 million. To make our services more affordable and more closely matched to your needs, we offer several levels of business valuation services.
How Long It Takes
Our normal turnaround time for a valuation is 2 to 3 weeks from receipt of all requested information.
What We Need From You
We will need 3 years of financial statements and/or tax returns plus other financial information like listings of receivables, payables, inventory, and fixed assets. We will also need documents like real estate leases, loan agreements, articles of incorporation, and buy-sell agreements .
Getting Started
If you are interested in getting a business valuation please contact us for a free initial consultation. We will need to review your most recent business income tax return to get preliminary information like: company name & address, annual sales and ownership. Using this information will will quote you a price based on the schedule shown above. If you agree, we will follow-up by issuing a written engagement letter and document request list. We will start your valuation after we have received the signed engagement letter and a 50% retainer.
